To all of you complaining about the controls- Git Gud.

Our love for Souls come from the fact that it is completely skill based. You must find out the flow of gameplay and work to beat it, bugs and all. That being said considering how important dodging and jumping are in Slashy I feel that there should be a dedicated area or buttons for them. With no invincibility frames the timing of your jumps and rolls mean everything. For this game to truly test our skills as players we need to have the commands react as we act. Then it will be Great.

Sounds like a lot of these reviewers need to git gud.

Honestly this game is so buggy that it makes me want to throw my phone but I love dark souls so I downloaded it good thing this game is free because its nothing but trash can we get some updates on movement controls.

I wrote a whole review about how the controls are unresponsive and the game is glitchy and the whole thing felt like an afterthought by the developers, but "the username was taken" and everything got deleted so here I am. This game has got to be a joke, right? I cant help but get the feeling that the devs were laughing when they put this out. Cant wait for DS3 though!

This could be a highly addicting game but the controls are very fickle. 90% of the time I try to jump Im attacking instead. If the controls were more responsive I would be playing this a lot but will only try it again if I see there is an update and hope they fixed it.

Poor design, poor controls, the fact that Namco Bandai put the Souls name on it is degrading to the series as a whole

This game is flat out amazing and a great way to kill time. Id really love it if you could add in some character customization to it

This game is the most buggiest garbage that doesnt deserve a title of a game. Its the worst way to promote the upcoming release of Dark Souls 3. I would beg for a fix but its too bad of a game for a fix; so just trash it.

Its clearly a promotional title for Dark Souls 3. Huge DS fan here, so i hopped in this thinking a dumbed down side scroller of the real thing. Not so. Its an endless runner that you swipe up to jump and across to attack, but the controls are not responsive and theres just not much to it. It feels cheap and clunky. This game feels like a shambling embarrassment to the Souls franchise. Download and try if you like, but if you have any reverence for DS then youll likely feel like I do. Tip: wait for the real thing April 12.

This game is clearly a marketing campaign. You can tell by the "preorder dark souls 3 at GameStop" plastered everywhere. Not worth your time however if youre bored and I mean REALLY board, you can get some entertainment out of this but not much.

I cant figure out the purpose of them making this. If youre playing this youre likely already a dark souls fan and a mobile game with lots of bugs, unresponsive controls and what feels like luck based difficulty, everything DS is not the you didnt need this. Also anyone who wasnt positive about DS is definitely not gonna want to get it based off this game. Is it a joke? Making fun of "challenging" games like flappy bird that are only challenging because theyre made so badly? I dont know.

Mushrooms and I recognizable flying things make for sections of the game that are impassable. Unresponsive and clumsy controls dont help, either! I sincerely hope the guys at Namco read this: play Punch Quest. I say that because if you adopted that game control scheme, it would make Slashy Souls 100% better! Put a dedicated jump button on the left side of the screen and a dedicated attack button on the right side. To block, hold both buttons. If youd make that change, this game would be great!

This game is bad and Namco Bandai should feel bad

I like the comedy that is associated with this. It has a very lighthearted feel on a game about dying over and over. Have to say that it does make me want to play dark souls. So I guess the promotion worked.

Love the souls games. this is just GameStops latest desperate attempt.

As a lover of the Souls game this is a disappointment and an embarrassment to us all. But 2 stars because souls.

Nobody should expect this game to be just like Dark Souls, its just a promotional game to pass the time until DS3. It is a phone game and there are some problems with controls at times, but that doesnt really take away from the enjoyment (for me personally). Part of the fun of Souls games, is dying a lot. And youll probably die a lot in this game. It does still need some work, I hope they continue to work on it. It would even be cool to see a sequel to Slashy Souls, or maybe even a version of Bloodborne like this.
