Slashy Souls app good for
My only problem is that when the hollows hold up shields, you cant get past them and the fog catches up to you and you cant do anything about it.
The controls are not the best but is playable. If you could add challenges or quests that rewards with new armor sets. Seeing the same old armor over and over again is boring. Adding a setting for different controls. Maybe add a tutorial, I already learned the controls but if adding one for new players would be good(please have it optional). I dont think the game is bad, but needs fine tuning.
My only complaints would be the serious lack of a health bar, and the screen doesnt rotate, i like my speaker on the left damnit. And like all souls games, the controls are only terrible until you figure them out, Then theyre only mildly frustrating.
Fix the missing health bar and the rotation and you got your 5th star.
Slashy Souls is a fun little crossbreed of flappy bird and dark souls. You get the color theme, bosses, and items of dark souls, and the endless running, 16-bit graphics, and infuriating controls of flappy bird. Despite its flaws, Slashy Souls is good for when you need to kill a few minutes. However, it would be nice if you could buy better gear (e.g. Hard leather, elite knight, Havels), improve spells (e.g. Great heal, great magic shield, fire orb), or at the very least get cosmetic items temple run style.
The game series(Dark Souls)itself is difficult. And since the app is a endless runner, it gives me that hopeless feeling of never completing it ever lol. I would give it 5 stars but it needs some fixes...and a HP bar /:
I think this is a great minor mobile game but I really wish they had a inventory (different weapons, armors, maybe even rings. Another thing I want is leveling and a use for the points. Lastly a better Hud would be cool (like Heath, stamina, and maybe even a FP bar. Do that and youll earn that final star.
Some bad moments
The game definitely has some appeal. And for a free game, its nice. But as far as "souls-worthy" goes, it falls flat. The controls and gameplay are clunkier than Dark Souls 2 was originally and it feels like the framerate is always stuck under 30, even though my iPhone 6 can play several other more graphically impairing games on at least 30 fps. The gameplay so also really repetitive. There is no tactical dodging like in actual dark souls, you just roll forward. Bosses are pathetic. Its a nice free promotion, but not one that really holds up to Souls game standards.
And this is one, but I feel like this could be more.
Maybe an upgrade system, some different armor to choose from, (for customization) and different stages.
Cmon, these are some good ideas here.
Oh yeah, and the fog behind you makes me feel extremely rushed. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of rolling back.
Been a dark souls fan sense 1 i think this game is really funny but 1 minor tweak could u make the jump response time when swiping up a little faster would appreciate it
The game is decent enough but the new update wiped my highscore and all my medals. All that time and work for nothing...
I think the main issue people have with this game is the fact its a different game from Dark Souls, which it is. As a stance of not playing any Dark Souls, its quite a fun yet challenging game. Its worth taking a try with it since its free.
The controls still arent responsive enough, not enough tutorialazation, and pink screen bugs crash the game when you restart too fast.
